Tell the author, it's not like it's a Gnome project initiative. :-)

There's nothing slow about Gtk to begin with, but I looked at the home
page for this library and it looks like a bunch of convenience functions -
doesn't add any noticeable overhead. A function call or two is not
noticeable on a 386, let alone a modern computer. If the library is nice,
more power to it. No reason to discourage people's projects.
