RedHat v5.1 used an X utility called "netcfg" that set up PPP. I think 5.2
changed to using Linuxconf, but it appeared to work almost identically.

After entering all the proper information *and* checking the box marked
something like "Allow all users to activate interface", it works for
non-root users. I think most people had a problem with trying to use this
and the standard PPP setup information (ref the PPP-Howto). It ain't the
same !! People would do it "the RedHat way", then type "ppp-on" or whatever
the command was and it not work. Redhat's way was to either use another
little X-windows utility (I forget the name now -- usercrtl, maybe ?) or
typing "/sbin/ifup-ppp0". Typing that command, as a non-root user, works !

Whether or not RedHat's way confuses people, go against "the standard Linux
way", or whatever, again, I got it to work...
