Re: GDM

Hey Neb,
I am not sure if logging out shuts down xscreensaver or not. To set
this up properly, got /etc and open inittab. edit the line that says:

id:3:initdefault:

to read:

id:5:initdefault:

Next, scroll down to the line that reads:

x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/X11/xdm -nodaemon

to read:

x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/gdm -nodaemon

that's it. Now reboot, and gdm will be the display manager.

Let me know if you have any luck with xscreensaver. It might be that
you have to add it to /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default (I'm not sure of the
name, but it is detailed in /usr/doc/gdm*/forgot_the_name.txt)

Good Luck,
Tim
