Consider your options carefully.  Glibc 2.1 works fine for the most part, but
there are known issues with it.  Perl 5.005, C++ (using libstdc++), rvplayer
(core dumps), and some other non-essential libs break.  Saw a good discussion
about this on Debian's maintainers list.
