have you installed your other WM? it has to be on the system, (you can install
window maker right off the CD. 
in dir: your-cd-drive/RedHat/RPMS,
rpm -Uhv W* wm*
).
once window maker is on just go under control-center and it should be there.

i just tried to simulate that but E didn't quit on me. try this tho. next time
you run gnome, pull up a term window and run /usr/bin/enlightenment
that should restart E and gnome should autorun E in the future.

it saves your session on logout, so since you killed the session, it didn't
save. you can always just set up your panel, logout, and restart. then every
thing will be saved.
