Re: Enlightenment problems

First, thanks for the really quick reply.
	I don't have a .xinitrc for the account that I am using to fire up startx.
I did change the .Xclients file as recommended at
http://www.gnome.org/start/getting_rh.shtml so that it looks like this

#!/bin/bash
  gnome-session
##

This worked until I added all the files listed on that page as Additional
Gnome Packages.

I suspect that the problem is related to the fact that to get the
additional packages to RPM properly I had to update some libraries and I
think I broke some references. I may have tried to jump to too advanced of
an update (I went from my original install of Redhat 5.0 to the versions on
rawhide.redhat.com). But keep in mind that it was actually working until I
went to install those Additional Gnome Packages.

As far as versions, I installed enlightenment-0.15.4-1 and
gnome-core-1.0.1-6. I got most of my files off of rawhide.redhat.com or one
of its mirrors.

OK. I tried like you said and made a local .Xclients file with the
following in it.

#!/bin/bash
 panel &
 /usr/bin/enlightenment
 ##

And it works. At least I get handles and other enlightement things. So I am
now suspecting that gnome-session may be the culprit. I'm not sure how to
fix that.

Also for some reason none of the help stuff works. Once I got out of X,
there was an error message in the console window that said Gdk warning.
Whatever that is.
