IMHO, disallowing root to send mail is qmailish.  In my circle of friends,
root doesn't necessarily have uid 0 and uid isn't necessarily root.

This person may or may not be root==uid0 but that isn't the point.  The list
manager shouldn't stipulate which name a person can and cannot use.

We use these alternative operating systems because we want to do things
-our- way, not the m$ way.  One of the reasons I don't run software like
qmail is because I like having mail delivered to users named root without a
workaround and I like having mixed case users distinct from tolower().

If someone wants to use 'root', let them.  Be it ill advised if that
username is actually uid0, that's for them to crash and burn after ignoring
conventional wisdom.
