should I upgrade ?

I am currently running 0.98 : everythings is fine. 
I downloaded Gnome 1.0 rpms a few days ago. Since then, I have been reading this list.

Now, I ask myself : Should I upgrade ? 

>From what a lot of people are saying, there has been some move to a new glibc. And many people
report things are not working anymore. 

Was that absolutely needed  ? 0.98 was close to very stable. Was it time, when going
to 1.0, to move to an experimental libc ? Is there a way to avoid using glibc2.1 ?

Is there a status on this somewhere ?

BTW: I love Gnome. Thanks to you all.
