upgrades - success

thank you all!  my sys is now running the latest gnome-core and a few
other updates.

i'm sorry if i seemed a bit impatient or rude. 

thank you all very kindly!  hopefully the little core dump problem will go
away....at least the one cause by gnome. ;-)
