Session managing Enlightenment

I'm running e 0.15.5, and have discovered that configuration changes made to
Enlightement while using gnome-session as a session manager don't get
preserved for the next startup. I can only assume e is putting them
somewhere and then getting told to use different config by gnome-session the
next time I log in.

Anyone else seen this / got a solution?
