gnome-terminal quirk

I've had a slight problem with the 'Swap DEL/Backspace' preference.
Setting it while the terminal is running works fine, but if I close the
terminal and start a new one, the terminal itself isn't swapping the
keys, but if I bring up the preferences, the toggle is set. If I unset,
apply, and set, and apply, the terminal then works fine. Seems the swap
preference isn't getting applied to the terminal properly at startup.
