panel problems....

Hmmn.  I had been wondering why the 'panel&' statement in my .xinitrc would
work sometimes and not others....  from the command line:

emerson@mergatroid:~$ panel
Unable to connect to server port 35091
This generally means that the program could not talk to the esound server

GLib-ERROR **: could not allocate 1869771885 bytes
aborting...
Aborted
emerson@mergatroid:~$

I recompiled glib from CVS as of 6:30PM Pacific, and I have the same results.
This is with 2-3 days' ago of everything else.  I suppose I will recompile my
entire universe and see what helps, but I thought I'd mention it....
