We thought it was going to be a good way to stabilize GNOME but it was
a mistake.  The problem is that HEAD and GNOME_STABLE were constantly
getting out of sync (and we were spending far more time syncronizing
the trees than fixing the code)

Now we are putting carefully the code in HEAD.

When GNOME 1.0 actually goes out, we will actually do a branch.  Not
before.
