BUGs the really bug me. in gnome-libs 1.0

I am using gtk 1.2 

Many places that are supposed to have scrollbars don't.  for example 
when I try to read mail in balsa.  or scroll in gftp.  many other cases
exist where scrollbars don't appear.

also gnome-libs crashes whichever application decides to use the icon
selector.  However it only crashes it when the default directory is 
/prefix/share/pixmaps.  

gmc segfaults. fresh (20 min ago from CVS) it segfaults as soon as it
starts.

that's all I get.
I get the same backtrace from gmenu when selecting an icon.  
but unlike gmenu I get a core from gmc that I could e-mail someone.
