Gnome and PPP

I recently installed Gnome PPP on a laptop and I can't get the modem to do anything.

I configured everything that I need to connect to my ISP, but when I hit the connect button the pppd daemon is forked and nothing else happens.

Am I missing another config file, minicom seems to work just fine?
