Re: redHat 4.2 and gnome



There should be no problem with using GNOME with your system (if there is,
then it is a bug and should be reported as one).  Note that there are a
number of people running gnome under slackware which has a similar set of
libraries to RH4.2, so it is possible.

You probably won't find a binary distribution for your system, but
building from source should work.  Just make sure you get all the required
libraries before starting.
