Oops, you are right.  I just fixed this on cvs.  Thanks for noticing it!

That could mean a stuck pointer grab.  Could you please provide a
small test program that duplicates this problem?

(I have not had problems with the modal popup menus; they are used a
lot in Gnomecal).
