Hi all,
I updated my gnome stuff to the latest from cvs today and have been playing
with it all night tonight and theres some things that I thought i'd comment
on and a couple of bugs that I found.
First of all its all looking very pretty and polished - gnomecard and
gnomecal in particular!
Anyway, here is a list of bugs, comments and suggestions from what i
evaluated (which is not much yet)
Regards,
Paul Duran

=================
1) problem with menubar detaching
* change the size of the window (i had it at about 85x60)
* detach the menubar - notice the window resizes itself to its original size
2) problem with window resizing
* resize a window while running screen - it appears that the screen doesnt
receive the window size updates

1) problem with focus switching
* open up a find-file dialog (comands->find file)
* tab down to the 'Content' input textfield
* type something in there
* tab to the ok or cancel
* shift-tab around a few times and then try typing.. it will appear that a
different widget has the focus, but the text appears in the content textfield
2) problem with open/open with dialogs
* 'open' and 'open with' (from right click on a file) both seem to have the
same (rather unusable) dialog. maybe there is a nicer way to implement this
dialog but i cannot think of it right now :/

========
1) the mailbox view seems to truncate all of the mail filenames at ~50 pixels
2) the tab column that shows the currently open mailboxes seems to place
itself vertically between the mailbox list and the mail previewer. Is this
configurable somehow because it takes up a lot of screen real estate

gnome-edit didnt seem to get built be default?

Cosmetic Problems
=================
In the panel menu:
=================
no icon for the session manager program
(incorrect?) icon for the file manager
In gnome-help-browser:
======================
Problem: arrow keys should affect the scrollable area below in the expected
ways, irrespective of what has focus.
Reasoning: there is no other widget in the view that needs to deal with the
arrow keys IMHO. If the dropdown box where you type a URL is supposed to
hold a history, then IMHO it should still be driven by mouse - keyboard
navigation of the document should be a much higher priority
should this be a fundamental property of the gtk-xmhtml widget perhaps?
File Browser
============
Since the introduction of meta-data, would it not be a decent idea to
introduce data type filters to a gnome file browser? eg: for gnomecard to
open files of type gnomecard (or whatever format it stores them in)
Gtk Text Fields
===============
Would it be much overhead to have right click menus on gtk text fields with
standard operations, cut, copy and paste? Also right clicking to focus the
text field should select all text in the field before bringing up the menu
