Searching the gnome-list

I was wondering if there are any plans to make this list easier to
search? An example of what I would like to see can be found at
http://lists.linuxppc.org/lists/linuxppc-user
They have a similar discussion type list, and have all the threads
archived, but they have the ability to search through all the messages.
It allows you to search all the messages by content, so that if you
remember seeing a question asked, you don't have to ask it again, or
prowl through months of messages, looking at the subject until you find
the question you are looking for. That's one thing that really bothers
me about the Gnome list is that if I remember asking a question, but
don't remember the answer AND don't remember what month I asked the
question, I need to start with the most recent month and skim through
each thread then go to the next most recent month and start all over.
Seems like there has to be a better way. I'm sure the LinuxPPC guys
would be happy to share their setup if the gnome-list maintainer wants
help!

Is there a way to do this currently that I am just missing? Am I alone
in desiring this? I love the list, but I currently have over 35 MB (and
growing bigger each day) worth of it stored on my hard drive so that I
can search the messages using my mail reader to find the answer to a
question that I KNOW has already been asked. Since the archives are
already maintained on the Gnome web server, it seems like just adding
the capability to search them would come in quite handy and allow me and
many other people to delete their old messages off their local drives!
