CPULoad-Applet skrews up my panel

Hi all

I observe a strange behaviour with the CPULoad-Applet.
When adding this applet to the panel, the next time
I am starting an X-session (with panel), the panel
seems to start up all the applets, but when coming 
to the CPULoad-Applet, the panel crashes and after
one more (futile) try, leaves the desktop without
any panel.

Does anybody observe the same behaviour?

My box:
SuSE Linux 6.1 (glibc 2.0)
ORBit-0.4.93-1
gnome-libs-1.0.12-1
gnome-core-1.0.9-1
