gnome not working because of sound.

Hi,
I have gnome installed (using apt) on a Debian (slink), on an old pentium
75, WITHOUT a sound card. I blindly installed everything, including esound
(that was maybe a mistake). When I invoke gnome-session, I get: (see
below). Can someone help?

Thanks,

Stefan.
