Debian 2.1 path for gnome-session

I've recently installed the Debain 2.1 desktop, and can't start gnome.  I've 
added 	exec gnome-session 	to my .xsession file, but still need to 
specify the path for this command.  I've looked around the entire file 
system, using find, but haven't found this file anywhere.  

I used dselect and apt to intall the task-gnome-desktop package.
