Compiling GNome with gcc-2.95 and glibc-2.1.1

Hi all,
I have some problem compiling GNome with gcc-2.95. When I compile libgtop,
gcc told me that there are some error with the "asm" lines, which are
assembly.
Did anyone got this problem too?
