Problem with gnome-ppp

Gnome-ppp apparently doesn't set the mtu/mru value that are stored in its
config file. mtu/mru is set at 296 no matter what I write into the
configuration window.

I'm using 1.0.12 libs, 1.0.9 core, 1.0.2-2 gnome-network on RH 5.2, all
compiled from Gurulabs SRPMS. Thanks for any help,
