GMC, I believe, only puts the links for items that you, as whatever user you
are logged on as, have permissions/rights to mount and/or unmount.
RedHat, for example, does *not* have the floppy, CD-Rom drive, etc as being
mountable by "normal" users. You have to change your /etc/fstab file to
allow this. Are other distros the same way ?
