Registering Id = (null)

I am running Gnome from the latest set of rpms, under Red Hat 5.2.

Or trying to, at least.

It comes up fine, but as soon as I attempt to launch an application, the X
server crashes and dumps core.

The trail looks like:

	execing : gnome-terminal
	Priority 50 : Registering Id = (null)
	ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 565, errno = 0

Any ideas? Thanks.
