I have a similar problem with the dvorak kb layout X swaps the ] and = keys.
to fix it i edited the keymappings.
to edit specific keymappings go to
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols
and edit the file that fits your language (de i'd guess).
this will change it for X and everything that runs under X.
