Bouncing Bonobo release of the gnome-core, gnome-utils and gnome-media modules

			      ANNOUNCING

The Bouncing Bonobo release of the GNOME Core,
GNOME Utilities, and GNOME Media modules

The GNOME team has just released version 0.30 of the Core, Utilities,
and Media modules. The packages have lots of improvements, bug fixes,
and new features.

The GNOME Core module includes the Panel, the Help Browser, the
Terminal, and the Session Manager. The GNOME Utilities module
includes the Calendar, the Time Tracker, and several utility programs
to make your life more pleasant. The GNOME Media module includes the
Mixer and the CD Player.

The GNOME libraries in the gnome-libs module are required to build
these packages. In addition, you will need the latest version of
libgtop to build some of the programs that need system information.

Some changes in these releases include:

	- Stability in the panel has improved greatly.

	- New applets, including a character picker.

	- Speed improvements to the help browser.

	- Enhancements to the gnome-terminal, including better
          emulation and configurability.

	- Improved interface for Gnomecal, including a re-written year
          view with more configurability options.

	- Many improvements to the CD player, including
configurability options and user interface fixes.

	- Tons of bug fixes.

Getting it:

You can get the code from

		ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources

Or from the Anonymous CVS, use the tag GNOME_0_30 to fetch
	this version.

RPM packages for Red Hat based systems are available at:

	    ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/redhat/latest

There are no Debian packages at the time of this release, but
they should appear as soon as the Debian maintainers catch up
	with the release.

Requirements:

These versions of the Core, Utilities, and Media packages
require gnome-libs 0.30 and libgtop-0.25. These are available
from the same place as the aforementioned packages.

Many thanks to all the individual package maintainers who made this possible.

The GNOME team
