I have not had this error. The error looks suspicious to me. Perhaps a
recent change in the CVS repository? I can't access that, so I
downloaded and compiled gnome-libs-0.30.1.tar.gz, which is probably a
little older.

Same here. Even tried to compile gnu-ld, but the platform is not
supported:-(

Yes, see www.gnome.org look at mailing list; the links in the left
column, which looks like an e-mail-link are actually links to the
archives.

And you should have received a message that you can request messages
via e-mail when you subscribed (a search-engine on WWW would be
better, as suggested last week by somebody else; I second that
opinion).
