All the CVS servers are supposed to be running CVS versions much newer
than 1.9.  There is a bug in the CVS 1.9 server wrt modules, which are
used heavily in the GNOME CVS repository.

As far a clients go, it shouldn't matter whether you use CVS 1.9 or CVS
1.10, though v1.10 may be better (I think it has integrated RCS and
diff, so that it forks less frequently).
