Panel doesn't show up lately

The panel in anoncvs November 17-18 doesn't show up when run. If I
remove ~/.gnome it shows up the first time it is run, but any time it's
executed after that, it won't come up. It loads the applets and they
seem to work. But unfortunately, I can't see them so that doesn't help
much ;)

Anyone else experiencing this behaviour?
