adding a statusbar to GnomeApp?

I was wondering if a place for statusbar should be included in GnomeApp
widget.
This would only require another row in the table where another widget
could be put and a gnome_app_set_statusbar() function. Should I patch
the GnomeApp sources or is this considered unneeded?
