Directory selector

Kind people,

I have looked through the gnome-libs source (as mentioned earlier ;) but
couldn't find anything relating to this new question.  Are there plans for
implementing a directory selector for Gnome, or should I hack my own
together using the gtk tree widget?  

I had a look through the GTK file selector source code as well, and it
seems as if the file selection part is hard coded into it, i.e. there's no
option to disable it.
