Well -- This morning I removed my gtk+ and gnome-libs directories and
re-checkout'ed them from CVS. Built and installed both. I haven't gotten to
the gnome-core where gnome-help-browser is because I can still get the
gnome-hello-1-menus program to give me the error when I click Help:About
(And I assume the errors are somehow related... They give me the same error
message anyhow.)

Once again, the error is:
** ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)

And then the program receives SIGABRT. gdb shows the error apparently
occurring in a call to gtk_widget_show from about_cb. The line in
gtk_widget_show is

 gtk_signal_emit (GTK_OBJECT (widget), widget_signals[SHOW]);

-Toshio
(P.S. This was with the imlib-1.1 rpm from ftp.labs.redhat.com. I'm going to
try try again with the Imlib from CVS, but I've already started having
problems. It seems the libpng distributed with redhat-5 doesn't link -lz in
but the Imlib.rpm did (and the CVS doesn't. Is this the libtool problem I
reported earlier?). Now I have to relink the gnome-libs and see if that makes
-lz show up....)
