Gnome && glibc

  Ok, I just installed glibc and have newest version of both glibc/libc,
a cross compiler, 2 copies of g++ - the whole works. I have had GNOME
running fine for weeks with libc5 stuff. I am getting the nagging
suspicion that in order to compile GNOME linked with glibc I will have to
recompile X in order to link against those libraries.
  Does every library linked into a glibc executable also itself have to be
linked to glibc? I was under the impression that some of GNOME required
glibc but did not realize you had to recompile all the X stuff. Can you
download just the glibc X libs and install them under
/usr/i586-linux-libc6?
  BTW is balsa dependant on glibc?
