Ok, here's what I promised. From the README:

This is a demonstration of a command-based application and API. Instead of
manually binding functions to menu items, toolbar buttons and key
combinations, you bind a named command to them. This has the advantage of
making the application much easier to code, and at the same time giving the
user almost unlimited customization capabilities.

It's early beta, and alot needs to be done (multiple toolbars, accelerators,
customization dialog etc), but the demo works fine.
