db2html not found in make install of gnome-core?

i did a gnome install from scratch today and run into the following

problem in gnome-core:
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/gnome/gnome-core/core-docs'
db2html gnome-intro.sgml
make[1]: db2html: Command not found
make[1]: *** [gnome-intro/book01.html] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gnome/gnome-core/core-docs'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

what is this db2html? i could fix it for me with generating a fake 0 byte
db2html executable in /usr/local/bin, it installed ok with that... 

But where am i supposed to get the real db2html?

(i found no deb or whatever db2html wherever i looked)..

ps. this not the first time i ran into exactly this problem
