In order to facilitate a build, I did the following:

reflections# ln -s ../local/include/gdk/ .                         /usr/include
reflections# ln -s ../local/include/glib.h  .                      /usr/include
reflections# cd /usr/lib                                           /usr/include
reflections# ln -s ../local/lib/glib/ .                                /usr/lib

Ugly, but it worked.  I'd be happy to report on my setup if anyone has
questions about what's going on here.  If mine is a single case of this
happening, then it's not important enough to spend time on.  Just thought
I'd report it in case anyone was interested...
