I'll check out the xcdroast page.  I'm not sure I got what
you meant about MidnightCommander.  I haven't used xcdroast
myself but I'll keep in ming the layout thing. I would like
to have all the dialogs ony 1 level off the main window. 
This may sound silly but I don't have a CDR drive (although
it's my next purchase).  I have written a PERL script for
the one I use at work though.
