Tom's new automake is available in rpm.

If you're lazy like I am, you can pick up a copy of Tom's new automake
in rpm format ( built on redhat 5.0 ) from:

http://odin.appliedtheory.com/gnome/rpms/

I've passed the info back to Marc, they may appear on the labs ftp
site.  Let me or Tom know if you have any problems.
