Re: Why use guile?



In later statements RMS has stated that guile is there to give you the
*syntax* of your favorite language, to the extent that it can.  Guile
isn't supposed to wean you from C or perl or whathave you.  It's just
supposed to put a friendly face on an extension language.  This isn't the
same goal as corba.

Corba is there to allow you to write whole applications or parts of an
application in any languages that you want, ignoring what language the
library (or libraries) you're calling on use. 

They seem like very different goals to me.
