gnome-help-browser dumps core

Hi all, sorry if this is a FAQ, but I took a look at your archives and
couldn't find it.

I tried starting up gnome-help-browser from the panel, and nothing
happened. Then I tried starting it up from the command line, and this
is what happened:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

terra:~% gnome-help-browser
Unable to connect to server port 35091
zsh: abort (core dumped) gnome-help-browser
terra:~% gdb !:0 core
gdb gnome-help-browser core

My system is a P100 running a "modified" Slackware 3.1, with
libc5.3.12 (and gettext-0.10 for internationalisation). I compiled
GNOME from the 11/17/98 snapshots.

Thanks for your help,

JL
