compile trouble

I'm trying to compile from the latest tarballs.  My compiler is egcs 
1.0.3a and I've installed the latest gtk and glib sources.  I'm running 
Redhat 5.1 with all but yesterday's update applied.  I should note that 
I also have the older gtk installed which came with RH 5.1.  It craps 
out thusly:
