GNOME and the font selection box

...following a similar thread, what are the plans regarding font
selection? IMHO, the current GNOME font selector which duplicates more
or less the ugly one from gimp is way behind the current gtk+ one....
Is there more that has to be in a GNOME font selector than what the
current gtk one offers?
