Applets not working in panel 0.27

Anyone managed to get applets working in 0.27?  Something seems to be
broken, whether it's ORBit, the appletts, or panel, I don't know.  I
just compiled gnome for the first time, and from the screenshots i've
seen some of the applets look great.  Just wish I could run them :>
