I agree, EXCEPT when this distinguishes a base program and one ported to
GNOME. By that I mean that a program that is PORTED to gnome should have
a g prefix so that it can be separated in both command and reference.
Examples would be shutdown to gshutdown, fdisk to gfdisk, ect. Also, a g
is warranted if it's a normal component, specificly designed for gnome,
like gwm or gvt.
But projects started from scratch should have normal names without a g
prefix.
