gmp compile

[fractture <fract sprintmail com>]

I cannot get gmp to compile...I keep getting :

gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 6
make[1]: *** [sqrt.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jik/gnome/gmp-2.0.2/mpz'
make: *** [mpz/libmpz.a] Error 2   

Anyone got any ideas on a fix, or have these things compiled on
Linux x86 that could send me the zipped dir to run make install on?
I have Slackware 3.3
