	I'm more worried about the size of the file / parsing speed / startup
time cost than whether we store a single utf-8 string in core :-) but
nevermind - it seems this is a pre-lost battle that I missed the boat
on. I think it's something that we should take an active role in trying
to stop the creation of more copy-cat files with embedded translation.

	Will you take a patch to fully abstract this ? I can't think of any
good performance reason to have it like this.

	No idea how I do that; I just installed all the packages and assumed it
would work without further intervention. I assumed the 'default' theme
would have pretty icons - but perhaps that's just for want of artistic
endeavour.
