I don't have an answer to your question, but it poses an interesting
suggestion:
Is it possible (on the keyring side) to associate a single key with many
entries? Would it be hard to implement? Sounds like a useful thing for
the purpose Brian describes, where you use one password for many entries
(over possibly many different applications).

I use gnome-keyring to remember website passwords for a whole intranet
of websites where I have a single login account. That is, one
username/password combination is the combination of potentially hundreds
and in practice many tens of websites. I "remember" this same
username/password for every site in the "login" keyring in my gnome-keyring.
I wonder if anyone has cooked up a script (or process, or tool
otherwise) to bulk change all of the entries in a keyring that match a
given [username and] password to a different password since clearly when
I am required to change my login password for this intranet, all of my
gnome-keyring stored entries will become invalid.
Cheers,
