Using Meson 0.60.1 on our CI seems to fix the problem. I don’t know why, and I don’t know exactly which Meson version fixes things (I picked 0.60.1 because it was the latest release, and we have no need to run anything older on the GLib macOS CI).
Feel free to close this issue if you think that’s sufficient and things aren’t worth investigating further.
